The following post features student writing.

Playing Duck, Duck, Goose with the younger kids.
This is our last week in the village, but with the houses nearing completion we decided to take on some extra projects — teaching English to local kids and painting at their school! On the very first day of teaching, we were welcomed by a group of eager children. It seemed as if all the middle school-aged village kids had come for our class. It was exciting for us and the students!
We started off with worksheets and eventually it evolved into a learning game. The day was packed with laughter and excitement. Names were exchanged, boards were covered with drawings, and lots of laughter filled the classroom!

Then we split the class into three separate classrooms, giving the three of us (Hannah, Carson, and I) our own individual experiences. Later in the day, Carson and I combined our classes. Even though the volume was doubled, it was double the fun!
At the same time the teaching was going on, some of our group members worked on painting the wall in front of the school. From what I heard, they did an amazing job of cleaning up and repainting the wall. The next project at school is the gate!

Neighbors were interested in our work.
The first day of school was amazing!
