Hello from Quang Ngai!
After a tough but rewarding week of building houses and exploring Vietnamese culture, the group set off Friday morning for a weekend at the Sa Huynh Resort. Almost immediately upon arrival, we raced to enjoy the clear blue water of the Vietnamese coast at the beach. Under the hot sun, we swam in the ocean and pool for hours. For lunch, we treated ourselves to a Western meal, which was much appreciated by the group.
The next day, we woke up early to embark on a long walk down the beach and a moderate hike up a large hill, all under the vibrant sunrise.
At the summit, we could see the beautiful coastline, which featured mountains, beaches, and traditional boats.
After a short trip to a local restaurant for lunch, the group was back on the beach to enjoy the hot summer sun.
To conclude our weekend excursion, the group will travel to the My Lai Massacre museum, the site of a well-known war tragedy. Afterward, the group will venture into the coastal city of Quang Ngai to shop and relax before returning in the evening to our guesthouse in Mo Duc. On Monday, we will resume work on the houses.
